This is one of my absolute favourite things to have for breakfast (or for any meal). It is such a simple recipe but people always ask me how to make them. There is a general belief that poached eggs are complicated to make but they are so simple anyone can master them. I normally have two large poached eggs on one slice of brown toast for breakfast.
Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1 slice bread
- Knob of butter
Directions
- Bring a medium pot of water to the boil.
- Using a spoon, swirl the water around in a circle. Crack the eggs into the centre of the pot. Swirling the water like this ensures that the egg stays together.
- Allow the eggs to boil (not too violently) for 2-3 minutes, depending on your preference.
- Remove from the water with a slotted spoon and serve on a piece of buttered brown toast.
